The Washington State Legislature funded the Washington State Library IT Academy coursework for all Washington residents.
Because the funding is intended for state residents only, we need to make a good faith effort to limit use of the IT Academy to state residents and those enrolled in Washington schools and colleges.
We have worked with Microsoft representatives to come up with the following recommendations for how RPL can provide enrollment for Washington residents to gain entrance to the Microsoft IT Academy courses.
In person – everyone is served (regardless of whether they have a library card or can show proof of state residency).
By phone – the caller may self-certify that they are residents of WA state OR verify their library card number.
Online – verify library card number and Washington State Residency to allow self-certification of state residency.
