Every Hero Has a Story… What’s Yours? Kids under the age of 18 can pick up a FREE art canvas at Monkey Dooz Hair Salon (1325 Aaron Drive, Richland) beginning Wednesday, July 15th. Canvasses will be available during salon business hours while supplies last. Kids can paint, collage, stencil, draw
or create in any way they like to make an art piece that shows their story. Finished canvasses are due to the library by Monday, August 17th
to be a part of the Kids Art Show in September!
 

Louie Foxx: Super Magic

Bram Brata Steel Band

This fun local Steel Band will have you up and dancing! Come and enjoy the fun. We will either be outside or in the Doris Roberts Gallery depending on the weather. Paid for by the Friends of the Richland Library. 

Therapy Dog Mini Meet & Greet

July 16 6:30-7:30 PM

Come in to meet some of our registered Therapy Dogs. Read a story to them and keep track of it in your 2015 Summer Reading Program reading folder. 

Exploring the Science of Waves with LIGO

Join us for an entertaining and educational presentation on the science of waves. Geared toward kindergarten through fourth grade students.

Drop in anytime and stay as long as you like. We will get out our collection of foam blocks purchased by the Friends of the Richland Library and many other construction toys. Displays, projects and hands on activities for curious kids of all ages!

Therapy Dog Meet & Greet

Drop in to meet some of your favorite Therapy Dogs. Stay to read them a story! Be sure to record your stories in your Summer Reading Program folder!

Stories to Sketch

August 6

Preparing for the Community Sketch Day? Local storytellers will provide an entertaining way to exercise your drawing skills. Join us for stories accompanied by objects. Afterward, there will be time to examine and draw the objects from the stories.

Sketch Workshop for Kids August 11

Calling all young artists! Local artist Ron Reed will share some tips and tricks for kids. We will have paper and colored pencils available if you would like to try some drawing of your own. This special event is in preparation for the Community Sketch Day Saturday, August 15th.

Community Sketch Day

August 15 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Artists and non-artists of all ages are invited to join us sketching our community. Sketch on your own or come join a group at Howard Amon Park, Allied Arts Gallery in the Park, the Richland Public Library or McMurray Park. Bring your sketch to the Richland Public Library to be included in a display in September.

Public Art Sketch Tour

August 15 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Tour will begin in the Parkway and end at John Dam Plaza. There will be time for sketching public art at both locations.

Therapy Dog Meet & Greet

We've invited our Therapy Dogs to come to the library so you can meet them. Drop in anytime during the Meet & Greet to read a story to some of our favorite heroes! Don't forget to record your reading on your Summer Reading folder.
