Power, Party, Play: The 3 "Ps" to Little Black Dress and Fashion Success 7:00 PM

Thursday, July 25

Learn about how a basic LBD from any decade can be made to look different to fit any mood and occasion. Karen will demo LBDs from various decades and accessorize them to meet all types of fashion needs for all types of figures and ages. Karen will also have collections of vintage jewelry, hats, and shoes that will be part of the show. Handout included and a CD preview of her book will be available for $5.

Karen Sullivan-Schwebke grew up in Richland and attended Richland Schools. Her father was the late Richland politician, mayor, and judge, John R. Sullivan. After graduating from Richland High, Karen attended the University of Washington, where she received undergrad as well as graduate school degrees in both business and law. Upon returning to the Tri-Cities area, Karen became involved with vintage and retro fashions as part of her boutique in historic Downtown Kennewick, "Retro-fuge at the Roxy", in the restored art deco Roxy Theatre Building. Her book on vintage clothing and accessories is "Homage to the Little Black Dress" and she has exhibited her collection of LBDs and their accessories at museums, exhibits, private gatherings, and trade shows all around the Pacific Northwest. She teaches classes in vintage fashion buying/collecting/shopping and how to add vintage touches to your everyday wardrobe. Karen also is a rabid collector of vintage shoes and costume jewelry, especially 1920s and 30s rhinestones.
